20 years ago today.....

Dan and I got married in Bellevue, Washington!  Yep, it's been 20 years already.  Not much of an Anniversary celebration today though...worked till 10:30 on the house last night and Dan took overtime today...he did buy me 2 dozen beautiful roses though!  And we plan to get away with just the two of us next week sometime.  And this spring or next fall (2011)  we plan to take a 10 day vacation trip to somewhere (Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii?).  Every 5 years seems to be the timing for us.

Well, it's been a long time since I've had time to be on here.  And a lot has happened since then, the guys tore out the stairway and false ceiling, got it sheetrocked and now Dan is working on mudding it.  Mudding and taping it are turning out to be quite a project, he has to rig up special scafolding to reach that high while dealing with the stairs.  I have been working long days on the house too.  Painting and scrubbing, got the laundry room done and it looks great now, bathroom is mostly done just some touch up on the walls to do.  Lot's of touch up on the baseboards and trim around the entire house.  Scrubbed floors on my hands and knees for hours yesterday but it was so worth it, they look great now!  Had the walk through with the realtors today and had lot's of positive feedback.  It will be interesting what becomes of it and what kind of price we can settle out on after today.  Our house it's a bit hard to price because there really isn't anything else out there that compares equally, so he was hoping having the feedback of the other realtors will help.
Very worn out today, and thankful we can relax for a few days now.  Not doing anything on the house today at all!  Dan is at work and will also work Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  So the ability to work will slow some. If the weather turns nice I may switch and work outside for a while.

ANYONE OUT THERE WANT TO BUY A BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED VICTORIAN HOME?!  HAVE I GOT A DEAL FOR YOU!

After the tear out, securing a board to the wall for the scaffolding. Dan supervising Jamie and Daniel since his back was bad.
A view of the tear out, you can see where the ceiling used to be, it was a very odd thing the way they dropped the ceiling in weird places and put plywood over the upper part of the window which was hidden in the false ceiling.
Dan working on mudding the walls.
My beautiful "new" laundry room, all it took was a couple coats of paint and some de-cluttering and it looks great!  I love my laundry room now, should've done this a long time ago.

Our downstairs bathroom, after a good scrubbing and some touch up paint.

Pictures of the progress as of tonight.

The boys messy but finished bedroom.

Daniel's new little nook, this was the new part we added on to the room.

Our girls room. They each have their own color accent for their beds.

Another shot of the girls room and the two bunk beds.

The cleanest our bedroom has ever been!  We still have to find a temporary home for the wooden rocker, it has great sentimental value.  We hand carried it all the way back from Nicaragua 20 1/2 years ago, just one month after we got engaged and it has rocked every one of my children.

The gorgeous roses my husband gave me for our Anniversary!  Love that guy!
