So this morning around 10:30 I was finally getting out the door for my run ( had to wait for someone to be home who could watch the little ones). I was in the first 2-3 minutes of my run and could see black smoke billowing from a few blocks away, I knew Dan was the on call Duty officer so I thought I would take a 2 block detour to check it out. Turns out I got there before him! The fire dept hadn't even showed up yet. He arrived a few minutes after myself, so I then left and went for my run. After my run I circled back to see how things were going and to give him a hard time about being on scene first. It's never happened before, is just shows how quickly things go when they catch fire, Dan said all it takes is a matter of minutes.
After that I dropped off the Mandville girls and picked up Ariel and then did my grocery shopping after having lunch. Things never happen as quickly as I expect, it was later than I had hoped but it still got done.
The rest of the day was spent putting the groceries away, getting a turkey in the oven and helping Dan empty and finish cleaning the boys room (let's just say black trash bag). We have the dressers out and tomorrow the beds will be the last thing to come out so Dan can skim coat and then texture the walls (which are painted plywood, real classy!). Any how their room is getting a face lift, just hoping we can finish it all in a week. Feels nice to be doing all this "spring" cleaning!
Planning to do some yard sale shopping tomorrow morning for a few things we need. There are tons of yard sales tomorrow, it's crazy. Anyway hopefully the kids and I have some luck, Dan will be teaching a Fire Class all day. He is also working on putting in the new bathroom at the soon to be Cross Fit Gym, so he is pretty pressed out and tired lately.
Talked to the boys last night on Skype again, that was so much fun! We love doing that although most of the time we just use sound because we get better sound when we aren't trying to use the video part too. Thankful we can do that and even better that it's free!
