Yay! We got to get out and enjoy the sun today, not super warm but we had sun! Slept in and had a slow lazy morning, then cleaned up breakfast mess and headed to the beach at 11:00 and ended up staying till about 1:00. We went to King Salmon Beach which is right below Humboldt Hill were we lived before here, so we ended up driving past our old house and neighborhood reminiscing about all the walks, berry picking, bike rides, paint ball wars, etc. we did out there. We all kinda missed it by visiting, but that is one reason we are selling this house to get a house with a lot more property around it ( we had 1/3 of an acre before) and it was attached to our neighbors horse pasture, the kids loved feeding them through the "fence".
Then home for a late lunch, baths to wash off all the sand, naps for Bryanna and Steven who fell asleep during all the driving. Kierstynn got invited to a friends house for the night so we dropped her off after naps (around 4:00). I did manage to get a little (very little) bit of work done tonight, spray painted the mailbox and did the first coat on our lamp post (spent most of the time taking it apart, cleaning it, scraping the corrosion off, etc.).
Before we went to the beach our Realtor dropped by the sign for Tuesday and put the lock box on. Seeing the big Coldwell Banker sign sitting there actually got me excited, like this is really going to happen, it's not all for nothing. It should be up and running on the MLS by 10:00 Tuesday morning.
Dan, our two boys and 6 other young men left for backpacking this morning, talk to them late morning and they still had a long drive ahead of them just to get to the trail head. Been a little worried about them staying hydrated, it is supposed to be a scorcher today, well into the 100's and they were going to end up hiking in the heat of the day by the time they arrived at the trail head! Not fun to me. Anyway, just pray the all had enough to drink and that everyone is okay.
