Our "new" house

We are finally starting to feel a little settled now in the rental house.  Still have tons of boxes that need unpacked but we are just kind of ignoring them for now.  I am feeling ready to get back to working on the house and get those things finished now.  Still have more painting to do.  I hope to paint the front foyer area and trim, and paint the accent wall in the front living room this week.  Dan is hoping to get the crown molding put up in the 3 back rooms this week too.
The two littlest ones have been very sick and very grumpy all week, they apparently have caught a virus that is going around.  I took Steven in Friday because he was waking up every 1/2 hour or so for 3 nights screaming.  Both he and Bryanna were miserable crying in pain, she kept saying her teeth hurt and when we finally looked she had 2 sores on her tongue and at least 2 we saw in her mouth.  We knew Steven was cutting molars and just chalked it up to that, giving them each Tylenol regularly.  Then Thursday night Bryannainfection.  That's when I found out they had the same virus and were indeed miserable.  The Dr. said that according to what the older kids were telling him, they had a raging headache, body aches, sores in their mouth that hurt really, really bad, high fever, and some of them nausea and vomiting.  Glad we skipped the vomiting part, though neither one of them ate much at all this week.  Turns out Steven was cutting 4 molars, had numerous sores on his throat and just was not feeling well due to the virus.  They seem to slowly be turning the corner today, not as much Tylenol and eating a bit more.  Glad for that, it was a trying couple of days with them screaming and crying and both wanting to be held and being jealous if I was holding the other one and not them.  And they took lot's of short naps because the pain would wake them.  The Dr. said the good news is that most adults are not getting it.  At least there is a silver lining. started running a fever, and Steven was as unhappy as ever so I took him in thinking he probably had an ear

Dan just took a class today on Kettle bell work at the gym he has been going to in Arcata, he and Nick Launius (one of our business partners in our gym) really enjoyed it and can't wait to use what they learned.

Dan and I chaperoned a ski/snowboard trip to Mt. Shasta last weekend with the college age group, that was a lot of fun, and no one got hurt this year!!  I (Sheilla) skied for the first time, and love it!  Dan has been snowboarding as do our two oldest boys and Kierstynn.  I have gone on most of the trips for years but have either been nursing a young one or pregnant I am thankful I got to enjoy hitting the slopes this time.  We have another Ski/ snowboard trip coming up next month with the middle School, High school and any college age that would like to attend.  Looking forward to that, we usually rent a large house with that group and just put people on the floor and couches to save money, cook at home etc.  It's fun because we get to spend so much more time together that way, playing games etc.  With the College group we make a quick trip, leaving at 5:00 a.m. Sat. morning and returning Sunday night.  Staying in a hotel the one night, so you really don't see much of everyone except who is in your room.  With the School trip we leave Sunday afternoon, get there, settle in, play some games, snowboard the next day, go back to the house, cook dinner, play games or what not, then next morning we get up, pack up, clean up a little and hit the slopes for a full day and leave at 4:00 (it's a 5- 5 1/2 hour drive).
